Fulfilment Warehouse Operations Manager (Multi-Customer Site)

Location: Hoofddorp

Salary: €5,500–€6,500

Reports to: Operations Director

What will you do?

We are seeking a highly driven and hands-on Warehouse Operations Manager to lead operations at a fast-paced, multi-customer distribution site. This role is ideal for an experienced warehouse leader who thrives on the shop floor, is passionate about operational excellence, and is comfortable balancing customer expectations with commercial performance in a fulfilment and freight warehouse environment.

You will take full ownership of day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring service delivery, productivity, and cost control targets are consistently achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key responsibilities include:

Operational Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse teams across inbound, storage, and outbound fulfilment operations;
  • Maintain a strong floor presence, driving a proactive, hands-on leadership approach;
  • Ensure efficient resource planning aligned to daily and peak workload demands.

Planning & Performance Management

  • Oversee short- and medium-term operational planning, including labour, throughput, and capacity;
  • Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, service levels, accuracy, and cost per unit;
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve service delivery.

Customer Focus

  • Act as a key escalation point for customers, ensuring service levels and contractual obligations are consistently met;
  • Build strong working relationships with multiple customers, understanding their requirements and adapting operations accordingly;
  • Deliver a customer-centric culture across all operations.

Commercial & Financial Accountability

  • Demonstrate strong P&L awareness, managing operational costs including labour, overtime, and consumables;
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring financial targets are achieved;
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving and revenue-enhancing initiatives.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety, legal, and company standards;
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture and lead by example;
  • Maintain audit readiness and operational compliance at all times.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as an operations Manager or similar role within a fulfilment or warehouse environment, ideally multi-client;
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage complex, high-volume operations;
  • Demonstrable experience managing and improving KPIs and operational performance;
  • Solid understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and data-driven decision making;
  • Strong commercial acumen, including P&L awareness and cost management;
  • Exceptional people leadership skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams;
  • Highly customer-focused, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively;
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a continuous improvement mindset.
